To authentically drive sustainability and avoid accusations of greenwashing, Rich Arts implements a series of tangible, transparent work practices. Our most recent ones include…
- Increased emphasis on the use of eco-friendly materials, such as recycled polyester fibres for stuffing plush toys.
- Examining with local suppliers of organic cotton the real possibilities for the most sustainable of raw materials and examining strategies to integrate organic cotton suppliers into all products.
- Promoting environmentally friendly packaging for all toys and shipping boxes, such as recycled cardboard with all clients.
- Polybags are no longer used to package Rich Arts soft toys at all.
- Only using raw material suppliers with international certifications for environmental sustainability, especially Global Recycle Standards (GRS) and OEKO-TEX standard 100.
(Suppliers of raw materials with these certifications adhere to the use of recycled resources and the testing and approval of all textile materials for hazardous compounds.) - Rich Arts once sold leftover scraps to any company that would pick them up as garbage, but now have policy of only involving businesses that will recycle the fabric production scraps.
- Embracing the constant renewal of factory audit certificates, which drive the constant improving of requirements for human rights, fair labour practices, equitable worker compensation, environmental responsibility, and much more.
We will continue to seek to improve our internal processes, be fully transparent and demonstrate accountability so that all Rich Arts sustainability practices are both impactful and credible.
